autoimmune disease of the retina caused by a tumor in another tissue Etiology: - small-cell carcinoma of the lung & other malignancies Pathology: - progressive blinding disease which occurs in the presence of systemic tumor growth Laboratory: - antibodies against alpha-enolase are present in sera - anti-Car antibody (anti-recoverin) - cancer-associated retinopathy Ab in serum - recoverin IgG Ab in serum/plasma
