Etiology:
- Candida glabrata
Pathology:
- budding yeast of Candida glabrata appearscto produce high levels of ethanol in urine
Laboratory:
- ethanol in blood negative
- ethyl glucuronide in urine negative
Complications:
- patient wihcirrhosis & poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, denied placement on liver transplant list because of consistently high urinary levels of ethanol
