Etiology: - in part due to failed reinforcement of the cloacal membrane by underlying mesoderm Pathology: - protrusion of the urinary bladder through a defect in the abdominal wall Clinical manifestations: - presentation is variable - often includes anomalies of the bony pelvis, pelvic floor, & genitalia
