dystrobrevin beta; DTN-B; beta-dystrobrevin (DTNB)

Function: - interacts with dystrophin short form DP71 & syntrophins SNTG1 & SNTG2 - binds dystrobrevin binding protein 1 Structure: - the coiled coil domain may mediate the interaction with dystrophin - belongs to the dystrophin family, Dystrobrevin subfamily - contains 1 ZZ-type Zn+2 finger Compartment: - cytoplasm Alternative splicing: - named isoforms=4 - additional isoforms seem to exist - at least pne isoform may be produced at very low levels due to a premature stop codon in the mRNA, leading to nonsense-mediated mRNA decay Expression: - highly expressed in brain, kidney & pancreas
