Specific interventions designed to alter the relationship between the patient's symptoms & his/her behavior &/or environment for the treatment of maladaptive patterns. This may be achieved by modification of the behavior &/or environment of the patient. A coping strategy in which patients are taught to monitor & evaluate their own behavior & to modify their reactions to pain. See biofeedback, bladder retraining, pelvic muscle exercises, prompted voiding.
