atrioventricular (AV) dissociation
Independent activity of atria & ventricles. AV dissociation may be seen in association with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), or AV block.
Clinical manifestations:
- generally asymptomatic
Management:
- correct underlying cause (i.e. cause of SVT, VT or AV block)
