Origin: ophthalmic artery Branches: 1) superior temporal branch 2) inferior temporal branch 3) nasal branches Anastomosis: NONE Course: -> penetrates the optic nerve (CN II) 1 cm behind eye (extraocular part) to enter the eyeball (intraocular part) at the optic papilla in the retina Pathology: 1) this is an end artery; there are NO anastomoses 2) occlusion results in total unilateral blindness
