bronchial artery (bronchial branch of thoracic aorta)

Origin: Thoracic aorta. Branches: (1-2) 1) One right bronchial artery: -> arise from the upper left bronchial or 3rd right posterior intercostal artery or from the aorta directly 2) Two small left bronchial arteries: Course: -> run on the posterior aspects of the primary bronchi & follow the tracheobronchial tree Distribution: 1) trachea 2) bronchi 3) lung tissue 4) lymph nodes
