Function: - minor apolipoprotein that associates with LDL - inhibits cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) activity & appears to regulate cholesterol transport - associates, to a lesser degree, with VLDL, apo A1 & apo A2 Structure: - O-glycosylated with core 1 or possibly core 8 glycans Compartment: secreted Expression: - expressed by the liver & secreted into plasma Note: - uncertain whether Met-1 or Met-12 is the initiator
