Antibody to laminaribioside. Etiology: - Crohn's disease Clinical significance: - associated with Crohn's disease 1) 44% of anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibody-negative Crohn's disease positive for antilaminaribioside or antichitobioside 2) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, detection of 2 of 3 antibodies: a) anti-laminaribioside b) anti-chitobioside c) anti-mannan is 99% specific for Crohn's disease 3) higher titers of anti-laminaribioside or anti-mannan associated with small intestinal disease
