Clinical significance:
- associated with Crohn's disease
1) 44% of anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibody-negative Crohn's disease positive for antilaminaribioside or antichitobioside
2) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, detection of 2 of 3 antibodies
a) anti-laminaribioside
b) anti-chitobioside
c) anti-mannan is 99% specific for Crohn's disease
