Etiology: - HIV1 infection, AIDS - metastatic cancer Clinical manifestations: - anorexia - cachexia Management: - appetite stimulants do not improve morbidity or mortality (see anorexia) [3] - artificial nutrition does not improve morbidity or mortality [3] - olanzapine may improve appetite, weight & quality of life in patients with metastatic cancer [4]
