alloimmunization
Immunization to an alloantigen. For example, development of antibodies to transfused erythrocyte antigens is a common occurrence.
Complications:
- delayed hemolytic transfusions may occur in patients with a history of alloimmunization even if repeat antibody screening is negative [2]
