The urinary system undergoes change with aging. Physiology: 1) decreased bladder capacity (from 600 mL to NOT < 300 mL) 2) increased urine residual volume (PVR NOT > 50 mL) 3) occasional involuntary detrusor muscle contractions 4) decreased urinary flow rate 5) prostate enlargement in men 6) decreased prostatic secretions 7) decreased Tamm-Horsfall protein
