adrenogenital syndrome
A group of disorders.
Etiology:
1) adrenal hyperplasia
2) adrenal adenoma (steroid secreting)
Clinical manifestations:
1) masculinization of women, amenorrhea
2) feminization of men
3) precocious puberty in children
Laboratory:
1) serum FSH, serum LH low
2) serum estradiol: normal or high
3) urinary 17-ketosteroids increased
3) serum testosterone may be high (women)
4) serum DHEA-sufate may be high
