acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE)

Etiology: - often occurs after systemic infection Clinical manifestations: - sudden onset of bilateral, asymmetric visual loss associated with appearance of multiple light-colored lesions in retina - scotoma - photopsia - lesions begin to clear up & disappear, leaving the eye with a light, mottled shade Special laboratory: - fluorescein angiography
