acetic acid/cortisol/propylene glycol otic (VoSol otic)

2% acetic acid in propylene glycol. Indications: - treatment of superficial bacterial infections of the external auditory canal Dosage: 1) insert saturated wick; keep moist for 24 hours 2) 5 drops TID/QID. 2%. 15 mL. VoSol HC adds 1% hydrocortisone. 10 mL. Adverse effects: 1) burning 2) irritation 3) uncommon (< 1%) a) systemic acidosis b) urologic pain c) hematuria Mechanism of action: antibacterial
