aberrantly expressed proteins/genes in cancer

genes/proteins aberrantly expressed in cancers (general) (just a prototype, see specific type of cancer) Expression: - overexpression: EXOSC5, HORMAD1 (carcinomas), HSPH1 - aberrant expression of USP6 - CHP2 is expressed in malignantly transformed cells - CHFR is silenced in many primary cancers because of CpG methylation & deacetylated histones on its promoter region Pathology: - chromosomal translocation t(9;15)(q34;q14) involving BRD3 with NUT is found in a rare, aggressive, & lethal carcinoma arising in midline organs of young people - t(9;15)(q34;q14 produces a BRD3-NUT fusion protein [1] - chromosomal translocation t(15;19)(q14;p13) involving NUT with BRD4 is found in a rare, aggressive, & lethal carcinoma arising in midline organs of young people - translocation produces a BRD4-NUT fusion protein [2]
