14-3-3 protein eta; protein AS1 (YWHAH YWHA1)

Function: - adapter protein implicated in regulationboth general & specialized signaling pathways - binds to many protein, usually by recognition of a phospho-Ser or phosphot-Thr motif - binding generally results in modulation of activity of the binding partner - interacts with RGNEF (putative) - interacts with many nuclear hormone receptors & cofactors including AR, ESR1, ESR2, MC2R, NR3C1, NRIP1, PPARBP & THRA Structure: - homodimer. - belongs to the 14-3-3 family Expression: - expressed mainly in the brain & present in other tissues albeit at lower levels
