wrist; radiocarpal articulation
The synovial joint between the distal end of the radius & its articular disc & the proximal row of carpal bones with the exception of the pisiform bone.
The position of the joint is indicated approximately by a line joining the styloid process of radius & ulna.
The bones of the wrist include:
- radius bone
- scaphoid
- lunate
- triquetrium
Innervation:
- anterior interosseous branch of the median nerve
- posterior interosseous branch of the radial nerve
- dorsal & deep branches of the ulnar nerve
Arterial supply:
- branches of the dorsal & palmar carpal arches
