Indications:
- treatment of methotrexate toxicity due to renal failure
Dosage:
- intravenous administration
Pharmacokinetics:
- methotrexate levels fall below critical levels in 15 minutes
- 95% of methotrexate is eliminated
Adverse effects:
- hypotension
- headache
- nausea/vomiting
- flushing
- paraesthesias
Mechanism of action:
- rapidly reduces methotrexate levels via metabolism to a form that can be eliminated in patient
