Indications:
- identification of visual field defects
- used in the definitive diagnosis of glaucoma
- identification of visual field defects due to stroke
Procedure:
1) assesses integrity of visual system
2) white lights may be presented in various regions of the visual field
3) kinetic red-target testing uses 5 mm red-topped pin
4) limitations: time, patient cooperation, co-existing eye disease
Notes:
- except for detection of homonymous hemianopia, visual field testing is fairly insensitive for detecting visual field defects [2]
