UV-A radiation
Ultraviolet with wavelengths of 320-400 nm. UV-A can be transmitted through glass.
Notes:
- front windshields in automobiles block 96% of UVA light
- shatterproof front windshields contain 2 layers of glass with a UVA-blocking layer of plastic in between
- side windows block 71% of UVA light (variable, 59-96%)
- side windows are made of a single layer of glass
- tinting has no effect [3]
