A polyp occurring in the uterus. Epidemiology: -> 5%/year* incidence rate in premenopausal women > 30 * small study Pathology: -> 50% regression in 2.5 years Clinical manifestations: -> abnormal uterine bleeding Radiology: -> pelvic ultrasound Complications: - 3.6% of endometrial polyps malignant [2] a) risk factors for neoplasia - postmenopausal (HR = 3.9) - abnormal vaginal bleeding (HR = 2.0) b) editorialist is surprised at high incidence of malignancy [2] Management: 1) observation 2) hysterectomy
