Indications: - urinary stress incontinence refractory to medical therapy Procedure: - placement of a sling, made either of tissue obtained from the person undergoing the sling procedure or of tissue obtained from another source, under the urethrovesical junction & anchored to retropubic &/or abdominal structures Complications: - see pelvic reconstructive surgery Notes: - 3% of midurethral mesh slings are removed within 10 years [1]
