Indications: - obstructive sleep apnea in patients who fail CPAP Procedure: - implanted neurostimulation device - device is implanted in the upper chest, - it senses breathing patterns, & mildly stimulates airway muscles, keeping the airway open - device is turned on & off using a handheld remote control Mechanism of action: - stimulates hypoglossal nerve
