Not the same as unspecified somatic symptom disorder [1] Etiology: - psychological factors - stress, resentment ... Epidemiology: - common in the elderly Clinical manifestations: - 1 or more physical complaints lasting > 6 months associated with significant distress or functional impairment - distress or functional impairment cannot be explained by a known medical condition Management: - cognitive behavioral therapy - see somatoform disorder
