Pathology: -> tumors are generally large when found (macroadenoma) Clinical manifestations: - manifestations of hyperthyroidism Laboratory: 1) elevated serum free T4 2) normal or high serum TSH Radiology: - CT or MRI of hypothalamus & pituitary Management: 1) trans-sphenoidal surgery a) treatment of choice b) rarely results in cure 2) somatostatin analogs a) most patients respond to octreotide b) lanreotide
