Arsenical. Indications: - Trypanosoma brucei-rhodesiense - stage II (abnormal CSF) adjunctive with suramin Dosage: 30 mg/kg/day (max 2 g) IV every 5th day for 12 doses Adverse effects: 1) encephalopathy 2) fever 3) vomiting 4) abdominal pain 5) rash 6) tinnitus 7) ocular symptoms
