Etiology: - Cowden syndrome Pathology: - benign tumor derived from the outer root sheath epithelium of a hair follicle - it consist of cells with pale-staining cytoplasm with abundant glycogen [1] - lobular downgrowth of cells with clear, expanded, faintly glassy cytoplasm [2] Clinical manifestations: - multiple asymptomatic facial papules (case report) [2] - flesh-colored papules localized to the central face * images [2] Special laboratory: - shave biopsy Management: - topical sirolumus, 0.2%, gel daily (maybe 1 year of treatment) [2] - may be used in combination with erbium-yttrium aluminum garnet laser therapy [2]
