Uses:
- commonly used as an industrial solvent
- was used as a general inhalation anesthetic use abandon in 1980s
Characteristics:
- clear non-flammable liquid with a sweet smell
Adverse effects:
- cardiac arrhythmias
- neurologic dysfunction in combination with alkali used for carbon dioxide absorbtion when used with soda lime
- hepatotoxicity
- exposure associated with risk of Parkinson's disease [2]
