Triamcinolone Nasal (Nasocort)

FDA approves OTC Nasocort 2013. Indications: - treatment of hayfever & allergic rhinitis Dosage: - start 2 sprays (110 ug) QD, max 4 sprays/day Adverse effects: 1) irritation of nasal mucosa 2) rarely nasal ulceration Mechanism of action: 1) does NOT inhibit IgE synthesis or mast cell degranulation 2) inhibits cytokine production, arachidonate metabolism, inflammation & mast cell proliferation
