Indictations:
- bladder stones (urinary calculus)
Procedure:
- a cystoscope is inserted into the bladder
- a crushing device, lasers or ultrasound transmitted from the cystoscope breaks up the stones into smaller fragments, washed out of the bladder with fluids
- conducted under local anesthesia or general anesthesia
- generally hospitalization required
