Indications:
- TLC is the primary measurement for assessing restrictive lung disease.
Physiology:
- TLC = vital capacity + residual volume
Pathology:
TLC (% predicted) Assessment
> 120% hyperinflation
80-120% normal
65-89% mild restriction
50-65% moderate restriction
< 50% severe restriction
- TLC may be normal or increased in obstructive lung disease
