thiethylperazine (Torecan, Norzine, Toresten)

Tradenames: Torecan, Norzine. Indications: relief of nausea/vomiting Dosage: - 10 mg PO/IM/PR every 8 hours. Tabs: 10 mg. Injection: 5 mg/mL (2 mL) Adverse effects: 1) common (> 10%) - drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, dry nose 2) less common (1-10%) - agranulocytosis, cholestatic jaundice, confusion, convulsions, extrapyramidal effects, tachycardia, tardive dyskinesia, orthostatic hypotension, fever, headache, tinnitus Laboratory: - thiethylperazine in blood - thiethylperazine in serum/plasma - thiethylperazine in urine
