TIMELESS-interacting protein (TIPIN)
Function:
- required for normal progression of S-phase
- role in cell survival after DNA damage or replication stress
- may be specifically required for the ATR-CHK1 pathway in the replication checkpoint induced by hydroxyurea or ultraviolet light
- interacts with TIMELESS, which impairs TIMELESS self- association
- interacts with RPA2, PRDX2, MCM6 & MCM7
- phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR
Structure: belongs to the CSM3 family
Compartment: cytoplasm, nucleus
