Tinea pseudoimbricata

Etiology: - Trichophyton tonsurans - Trichophyton mentagrophytes - some Microsporum specie - Microsporum andouinii Clinical manifestations: - pruritus Laboratory: - direct microscopic examination with KOH fails to show hyphae - fungal culture Management: - griseofulvin 500 mg BID for 6 weeks results in complete resolution of lesions, with some remaining postinflammatory hyperpigmentation [1]
