triiodothyronine [T3] receptor or erbA proto-oncogene protein

c-erbA proto-oncogene protein or thyroid hormone receptor. Apparently 2 different genes differentially expressed in different tissues, each with at least 2 different splice forms. The receptor is not associated with hsp90, thus no cytoplasmic anchoring. It binds to DNA as heterodimer with RXR. The unoccupied receptor binds to its recognition sequence & inhibits transcription.
