Indications:
- aid in hemostasis during surgical procedures
Dosage:
1) depends upon indication
2) solutions range for 100 units/mL to 2000 units/mL
Adverse effects: anaphylaxis (rare)
Mechanism of action:
1) conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin
2) stimulation of the release reaction
3) platelet aggregation
