Contraindications: - no clinical benefit for acute heart failure Dosage: - 2.5 mg IV over 30 minutes, then 1 mg/hr IV for 24-72 hours Adverse effects: hypotension Mechanism of action: - endothelin receptor antagonist - inhibits endothelin receptor 1 & endothelin receptor 2 - signficant hemodynamic improvements with tezosentan did not translate to improved clinical outcomes [2]
