T cell receptor delta (TCRD, TRD)

Function: - the T-cell receptor forms non covalent interactions with a series of transmembrane signalling subunits, delta, gamma, epsilon & zeta each of which contains 1-3 copies of the motif YXX[LI]X(6-8)YXX[LI] - phosphorylation of these Tyr-containing sites in antigen- stimulated T-cells (presumably by lck) creates a binding site(s) for the SH2-domains of Zap-70. - Zap-70, in turn stimulates PLC-gamma1, leading to the rise in intracellular Ca+2
