syringoma

Benign adenoma of intraepithelial eccrine ducts. Epidemiology: 1) occur mostly in women 2) lesions begin at puberty 3) disorder may be familial Pathology: - many small ducts in dermis with comma-like tails ("tadpole") Clinical manifestations: 1) 1-2 mm skin-colored or yellow firm papules 2) lesions generally multiple, but may be solitary 3) distribution: most frequently on face, axillae, umbilicus, upper chest & vulva Management: - electrodessication - lidocaine-prilocaine topical anesthesia
