Muscle of the deep, proximal, posterior compartment of the forearm.
Origin:
1) lateral epicondyle of the humerus
2) radial collateral & anular ligaments
3) supinator ridge of ulna
Insertion: anterior & lateral surface of radius
Action: supinates the forearm
Innervation: radial (posterior interosseous) nerve
