striae distensae
Etiology:
- obesity
- pregnancy
- potent topical glucocorticoids
Clinical manifestations:
- linear atrophic marks on the skin of obese patients
- distribution:
- abdomen
- breasts
- buttocks
- thighs
- groin [1]
- orientation of striae is perpendicular to the greatest force of tension
- initially lesions may be raised & pink, but over time become white & atrophic
Differential diagnosis:
- inverse psoriasis
