Etiology:
1) Cushing's disease
2) obesity (striae distensae)
3) potent topical glucocorticoids (striae distensae)
4) lichen planus (Wickham's striae)
5) pregnancy (striae gravidarum)
Clinical manifestations:
- linear marks on the skin
- in patients with Cushing's disease, the striae are stretch marks, wider & more likely to be purple than in purely obese patients with striae distensae
