Indications: - lymphoma - non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - Hodgkin's lymphoma Radiology: - CT scan - PET scan Staging: 1) Stage I. a) involvement of single lymph node region (I) b) involvement of a single extralymphatic organ or site (IE) 2) Stage II. a) involvement of two or more lymph node regions on the same side of the diaphragm alone (II) b) involvement of limited contiguous extralymphatic organ or tissue (IIE) 3) Stage III. a) involvement of lymph node regions on both sides of the diaphragm (III) b) including the spleen (IIIS) c) limited contiguous extralymphatic organ or site (IIIE, IIIES) 4) Stage IV. - multiple or disseminated foci of involvement of one or more extralymphatic organs or tissues with or without lymphatic involvement Management: - CT/PET used to stage Hodgkin's disease - laparotomy & splenectomy no longer performed [1]
