SSRI-induced neonatal withdrawal syndrome
Etiology:
1) selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) treatment of mother
2) paroxetine accounts for 2/3 of cases
- fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram also implicated
Epidemiology:
- 93 cases worldwide by mid 2003
Clinical manifestations:
- convulsions, irritability, abnormal crying, tremor
