serum response factor-binding protein 1 (SRF-dependent transcription regulation-associated protein, p49/STRAP) (SRFBP1)

Function: - may be involved in regulating transcriptional activation of cardiac genes during the aging process - may play a role in biosynthesis &/or processing of SLC2A4 in adipose cells - interacts with SRF - forms complexes with SRF & SRF cofactors ARID2, MYOCD & NKX2-5 - interacts with the N-terminus of SLC2A4 (putative) Compartment: cytoplasm, perinuclear region Expression: - abundantly expressed in heart & skeletal muscle, & at much lower levels in brain & lung - up-regulated in adult heart (at protein level)
