spinosad (Natroba)
Indications:
- pediculosis
- treatment of head lice in children >= 4 years of age
Contraindications:
- do NOT use in children < 6 months of age
- one of the main ingredients, benzyl alcohol, can cause serious reactions, including death, in infants
Dosage:
- apply to the scalp & hair for 10 minutes, rinse
- two applications 1 week apart
0.9% topical suspension
Adverse effects:
- irritation or redness of the eyes & skin
Mechanism of action:
- contains benzyl alcohol
