A cavity or channel underlying a wound that involves an area larger than the visible surface of the wound.
Etiology:
- osteomyelitis
Pathology:
- chronic drainaige from a sinus tract suggests underlying infection, especially osteomyelitis
Laboratory:
- bone biopsy & culture [1]
Radiology:
- MRI is unnecessary in setting of chronic draining sinus tract [1]
